Apokalypsis

In deze nieuwe compositie baseert componist en dirigent James Wood zich op het boek Openbaring (het laatste boek van het Nieuwe Testament) om een avondvullend werk te schrijven voor 7 saxofoons, 12 stemmen, groot orgel en elektronica. De saxofoonbezetting van sopranino tot tubax beslaat tevens 7 sopraansaxen die samen met de zangers een hemels polyfonisch weefsel creëren. De numerieke symboliek vervat in het boek Openbaring, is de structurele basis voor dit werk waarin de musici rondom het publiek systematisch van plaats veranderen en met hun door live-electronics verdubbelde klanken in dialoog treden.
