The Tuning Path

Terry Riley
2020

To keep in touch with our audience during the lockdowns in 2020 and 2021, we recorded a number of videos in preparation for the triple album ICONS: The American Minimalists. All videos have been edited by Eric Sleichim.

The Tuning Path is the first movement of Terry Riley’s Chanting the Light of Foresight (imbas forasnai), a 1987 composition written for the Rova Saxophone Quartet. The piece is based on the Taín Bó Cuailnge (The Cattle Raid of Cooley), a part of the eight-century Ulster cycle of heroic tales. BL!NDMAN has recorded The Tuning Path for the Warner Triple CD ICONS. All videos are edited by Eric Sleichim, except for Triple Quartet mvt 1-3: video by Maarten Dascotte.
