RASCH

deSingel, 2020

On Friday 3 July at 8 pm, BL!NDMAN [sax] played the concert RASCH in deSingel. Klara Live broadcast the concert live with video streaming. BL!NDMAN [sax] will perform a powerful selection from his repertoire for this KLARA streaming concert. As always, BL!NDMAN’s approach provides an innovative transformation. Le Verbe by Olivier Messiaen, originally for organ, is played by saxophone quartet and Tubax. Bach’s Orgel Concerto nach Vivaldi and Fried und Freud contrast with Donatoni’s contemporary Rash. While electronic delays make audible the 24 voices of Josquin Desprez’s Qui Habitat, 12 saxes duel in Steve Reich’s New York Counterpoint.

Eric Sleichim: artistic direction, arrangements, tubax and electronics

BL!NDMAN [sax]
Pieter Pellens: soprano saxophone
Hendrik Pellens: alto saxophone
Piet Rebel: tenor saxophone
Sebastiaan Cooman: baritone saxophone

Rasch is a BL!NDMAN-production in coproduction with DE SINGEL and a collaboration with Klara.
