Eric Sleichim on the ‘Flemish Wave’ of the 1980s: “We had a real rock attitude”

Eric Sleichim co-wrote the music for the iconic production Rosas danst Rosas by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, which in 1983 caused a choreographic and musical earthquake. It is featured at the 164VANVOLXEM festival by Rosas, P.A.R.T.S. and Ictus in Vorst.

With ensembles such as Maximal!st and BL!NDMAN, Sleichim was one of the founders of what is known as the Flemish Wave in 1980s Brussels, a melting pot of artistic disciplines. “We were the postmodern Europeans,” says Eric Sleichim. For BL!NDMAN, he is gradually handing over the baton.
