GOUDEN VLEUGELS

ER-IN[nerung]
Tandem-concert BL!NDMAN [strings] and Spectra Ensemble in view of the Gouden Vleugels-Project

Beethoven’s string-quartet op. 132 is submerged in a bath full of new colours. Three composers let the masterpiece emerge from the depths of the subconsciousness in surprising ways. The “Heiliger Dankgesang” appears as a sacrosanct monument. Beethoven: from a vague memory to an almost tactile presence.

Beethoven composed his string-quartet nr. 15 in 1825. In ER-IN[nerung] the duration, the basic material and the structure of the original work remain, but they are barely audible in their original from. The inspiration for this unusual concept was found in Berio’s Sinfonia (1968) where in the third movement, the scherzo of Mahler’s second symphony becomes cut up, shuffled and partly orchestrated.
This concert finishes with an “Erinnerung” of Peter Swinnen, composed for Spectra Ensamble, Bl!ndman [strings] and live electronics.
