BLACK ANGELS
a war program for string quartet & electronics

A performance that focuses on a piece by the American composer George Crumb. The violence of ‘Black Angels’ is alternated with intimate movements from pieces of other composers. |
The performance focuses on the poignant piece ‘Black Angels’, written by George Crumb in 1970 as a reaction against the Vietnam War. More then 30 years later the world is still confronted with the inhumanity of war. In this program, aggressive movements from ‘Black Angels’ are being alternated with intimate and peaceful movements from other composers. The string quartet is thus questioning the horrors of the act of war.
